The Virology Discussion Group has a proud history of supporting education and CPD in Virology. To that end, we offer two courses which you may be interested in.
VDG Foundation Course: aimed at those wishing to learn virology for the first time and this includes MLA’s, Trainee BMS and BMS who don’t have a formal qualification in Virology. We endeavour to key the subjects into the relevant areas of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio for those following this route of training. Those wishing to gain CDP in areas other than their principle area of working practice would also benefit from this course. Commercial representatives coming into the field have also joined the course in the past to broaden their knowledge in a new area of working.
VDG Update Course: aimed at newly qualified BMS wishing to build on previous learning (including the VDG Foundation Course) and already established BMS who wish to maintain their CPD. This course is also used by junior doctors for specific areas of knowledge they wish to attend to.
